Fairwork Foundation

  Mark Graham

Mark is Professor of Internet Geography at the Oxford Internet Institute at Oxford University

We are starting a ‘Fairwork Foundation’. The goal of the initiative is to set minimum standards in the gig economy and offer a certification to platforms that achieve those certifications.

We believe that this will help to avert the current ‘race to the bottom’ for wages and working conditions that we see in many sectors of the gig economy. It will show that there are advantages for platforms to conduct business in more morally responsible ways.
