openDemocracy is currently reassessing our entire organisational structure, looking at everything from who owns us to our staff pay scales to recruitment policies.
We are adopting the PACT in the sense that we are committed to doing this through processes which seek to understand and redistribute power, strengthen accountability to those we seek to serve, build connection across difference, and deepen trust.
We have already begun these conversations internally. We recognise that much of this will mean changing the ways we do things, that we haven’t always worked in these ways in the past, and that this will be hard for us.
We will continue to make mistakes. But we also recognise that embracing this framework is a way for us to become more effective in pursuing our mission.
We have already begun this conversation with our board, and are excited about the work ahead.
